IPCH Sport Congress 2026: Open SEC Positions for the 2026–2030 Term
The 17th IPCH Sport Congress, taking place on 28 November 2026, is an election year for International Powerchair Hockey (IPCH). During the Congress, the IPCH Sport Executive Committee (SEC) will be elected for the 2026–2030 term.
A number of positions are open for nomination, providing opportunities for people with different areas of experience to contribute to the international leadership, governance and continued development of Powerchair Hockey.
Below, discover the open positions and the main responsibilities associated with each role.
Chairperson
The IPCH Chairperson provides the overall strategic leadership of IPCH and serves as its official representative.
The Chairperson provides direction for the governance, administration and development of IPCH and oversees the implementation of the organisation’s Strategic and Operational Plan. The position also supports the effective technical, administrative and financial management of IPCH.
An important part of the role is representing IPCH internationally. The Chairperson serves as a key liaison with World Abilitysport and represents IPCH at meetings with World Abilitysport and other international organisations.
The Chairperson also works to foster strong relationships with Member Nations and strategic stakeholders, supporting the international growth and development of Powerchair Hockey.

Secretary
The IPCH Secretary is responsible for the administration and governance of IPCH and supports communication between the Sport Executive Committee, Member Nations and World Abilitysport.
The Secretary prepares and maintains agendas, minutes and official records for SEC and Sport Congress meetings. The role also helps ensure that official decisions are communicated and implemented and provides administrative support to members of the Sport Executive Committee.
Financial administration is another part of the position. The Secretary oversees the administrative management of the annual operating budget and helps ensure that expenditure remains consistent with the approved budget.
Regular communication with World Abilitysport regarding administrative and financial matters is also included within the responsibilities of the Secretary.
The position is particularly suited to someone who is organised, collaborative and interested in contributing to the effective governance and administration of international Powerchair Hockey.
Technical and Classification Officer
The IPCH Technical and Classification Officer is responsible for the technical governance and sporting integrity of IPCH.
A central responsibility of the position is overseeing the development, implementation and consistent application of the Game Rules, Competition Regulations and Classification Rules.
The Technical and Classification Officer coordinates the Referee & Observers Committee, Jury Committee and Classifiers Committee.
The position also oversees education, certification and professional development programmes for technical officials and supports their appointment and continued development.
Working closely with the Event and Competition Officer, the Technical and Classification Officer also contributes to the effective technical delivery of IPCH competitions.
For someone with experience in technical matters, officiating or classification who wants to contribute at the international level, this role provides an opportunity to help maintain and develop the sporting and technical framework of Powerchair Hockey.
Event and Competition Officer
The IPCH Event and Competition Officer is responsible for the strategic planning, development and delivery of IPCH’s international competition programme.
The role oversees international competition planning as well as bidding processes, qualification systems and the IPCH World Ranking System.
Responsibilities include coordinating the bidding, evaluation and appointment processes for IPCH competitions and supporting Local Organising Committees in planning and delivering sanctioned competitions.
The Event and Competition Officer also monitors competition operations and recommends improvements to competition structures and delivery.
This position provides an opportunity for someone with experience in international competition and event organisation to contribute directly to how IPCH competitions are planned, structured and delivered.
Development Officer
The IPCH Development Officer focuses on the international growth and long-term development of Powerchair Hockey.
The position has a particular focus on participation, education and capacity building across existing Member Organisations and emerging nations.
Responsibilities include developing initiatives that support the establishment and growth of Member Organisations, promoting education and knowledge sharing, and encouraging collaboration between Member Organisations, Regional Organisations and World Abilitysport.
The Development Officer also identifies opportunities to expand participation, supports development programmes and contributes to creating sustainable growth throughout the sport.

Communication and Marketing Officer
The IPCH Communication and Marketing Officer is responsible for the communication, promotion and public profile of IPCH, with a particular focus on increasing the visibility and awareness of Powerchair Hockey worldwide.
The role includes developing communication and marketing strategies and overseeing the IPCH website, digital platforms and social media channels.
The Communication and Marketing Officer also coordinates media relations, publications and promotional campaigns.
Another important part of the position is supporting the promotion of IPCH competitions, development initiatives and educational programmes.
The Officer coordinates communications with World Abilitysport, Member Organisations and other stakeholders, helping ensure that IPCH communicates consistently and effectively across its international network.
For someone with strengths and experience in communication, marketing, digital media or promotion, this position provides an opportunity to help grow the international profile and visibility of Powerchair Hockey.
Partnership Lead
The IPCH Partnership Lead is responsible for developing and maintaining strategic partnerships, sponsorships and resource development opportunities that support the sustainable growth of IPCH.
The position focuses on strengthening relationships with funding organisations, commercial partners and institutional stakeholders.
Responsibilities include developing partnership strategies, identifying potential supporters and supporting funding opportunities.
The Partnership Lead also collaborates with World Abilitysport and Member Organisations to identify and develop partnership and commercial opportunities.
For someone with experience in partnerships, sponsorships, fundraising or resource development, the role offers an opportunity to help strengthen the resources and relationships supporting the international development of Powerchair Hockey.
Members at Large
There are two Member at Large positions open for election for the 2026–2030 term.
Members at Large support the work of the Sport Executive Committee and participate fully in SEC discussions and decision-making.
The SEC may also assign individual Members at Large responsibility for specific strategic projects or ask them to support one or more IPCH Committees or Networks.
These positions provide an opportunity for people to bring their experience, ideas and perspectives to the international leadership and development of Powerchair Hockey while contributing across different areas of the organisation.
