Updated Classification Manual Published

The International Powerchair Hockey (IPCH) International Powerchair Hockey is pleased to announce the official publication of the updated Classification Manual, revised following IPCH’s participation in the Compliance Survey conducted by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) International Paralympic Committee, specifically concerning the alignment and update of the classification framework.

The revised Manual is fully compliant with all IPC international standards and incorporates all required updates, further strengthening transparency, procedural consistency, and athlete protection within the classification process.

For Nations or athletes who may have already started preparing their medical diagnostic documentation in view of the 2026 World Championship, please note that it will not be an issue if documentation is submitted using a previous version of the form rather than the newly updated format.


Upcoming Education and Information Sessions

IPCH is currently organizing a series of dedicated sessions to present and clarify the updates introduced in the new Classification Manual. These will include:

  • Update sessions for International and National Classifiers
  • Targeted meetings for those responsible for managing classification at the level of National Leagues and National Championships
  • An open session for the community and athletes, focused on awareness, education, and understanding of the classification system
