Nations Confirmed for the IPCH World Championship 2026!

The International Powerchair Hockey community is excited to announce the confirmed nations and unveil the official logo for the 6th IPCH Powerchair Hockey World Championship, taking place from May 24th to June 1st, 2026, in Lahti, Finland.

Returning to one of the sport’s most iconic locations, the 2026 Championship will be hosted at the renowned Pajulahti Olympic and Paralympic Training Center. Located just 1.5 hours from Helsinki Airport and nestled beside the serene Lake Iso-Kukkanen, Pajulahti offers an all-in-one venue experience, including top-tier sport facilities, accessible accommodations, and full-board services.

This marks Finland’s third time as host of a major international IPCH event. After successfully organizing the inaugural World Championship in 2004 and the European Championship in 2012, Finland proudly steps up once more to welcome the world’s top teams to Lahti in 2026.

Confirmed Nations

Ten nations have officially secured their place at the 2026 IPCH World Championship:

  • Denmark – Winner of the 2022 IPCH World Championship
  • The Netherlands – Runner-up of 2022 & winner of the last European Regional Championship
  • Italy – Qualified via IPCH World Ranking List
  • Australia – Representative of Oceania Region
  • Canada – Representative of America Region
  • Switzerland – Qualified via IPCH World Ranking List (Asia slot reallocation)
  • Germany – Qualified via IPCH World Ranking List (Africa slot reallocation)
  • Finland – Host Nation
  • Belgium – Qualified via IPCH World Ranking List
  • Spain –  Qualified via IPCH World Ranking List

The official logo of the IPCH World Championship 2026 has also been revealed. This vibrant and dynamic design captures the energy of Powerchair Hockey, the unity of its global community, and the natural beauty of Finland’s landscape.

In a thoughtful nod to history, the new logo closely resembles the design originally developed for the 2020 IPCH European Championship—an event that was also to be held in Finland but was unfortunately cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This design choice celebrates Finland’s steadfast commitment to the sport and brings the vision full circle for players and fans alike.
