Everything you have to know about the Injet tournament
This Thursday, April 18th, teams will arrive in Jesolo, Italy ahead of the IN-JET Tournament, an international tournament sanctioned by IPCH and valid for World Rankings. Three teams, Finland, Switzerland and Italy, will compete in a total of 6 matches at PalaMarzotto in Villaggio Marzotto, throughout Friday, April 19th and Saturday, April 20th.
This tournament will provide an opportunity to not only compete on an international stage, but also enable athletes to be officially classified ahead of the European Championship in Denmark this October. Doing so will help teams prepare for the upcoming Championships by having direction on the classification of their athletes, while also supporting the European Championships Local Organizing Committee by relieving some of the timing needed for classification.
This three-team tournament will also offer educational opportunities for Officials including Classifiers, Referee Observers, and Referees in training from the Referee Development Group. Officials are vital to the continued success of powerchair hockey, in particular for international competitions such as the upcoming European Championships. As such, IPCH saw this tournament as a great opportunity to not only support players but also the continued development of Officials. IPCH received several applicants for the IN-JET courses and are excited to welcome several course participants who are excited and ready to learn more about their role as IPCH Official, and put their training into practice during the competition.
